A cemitery in downtown

Every Sunday, thousands of people walk through a free market at São Francisco neighborhood, historical center of Curitiba. In addition to see local crafts, people also can see a lot os important historical buildings there, like Paranaense museum or Belvedere Palace. The place, affected by a fire in 2017, was restores and reopened in 2020.  During this work, a team made up of researches, historians and archeologists found bones of people buried there in the 19th century.

Director of the archeologist department of Paranaense Museum, Claudia Parrelada said that, apparently, the bones belonged to a man and must be about 200 years. According to her, it was a common practice burying the bodies at churches at that time - the belvedere palace was a church, the São Francisco de Paula chapel, in 1880s.  The material was found justa 40 centimeters below the ground.

Parrelada explains that, at that time, there were no cemetery in Curitiba. Thats why people used around the church to bury the bodies. According to her, at least 500 bodies could be under the floor around the belvedere palace.

During months, Parrelada and a team of archeologists and researches worked to colect all the material. Now, fossils will be at a department in museum to a deepest study.

Before start restorations work, the city hall start a collaboration with the museum and another specialists to preserve the historical and archeological material. Building in 1916, the belvedere palace wad build as a place for people observe the city from above. Historical heritage, the building was affected by a fire and it took two years to conclude the restauration. Reopened in 2020, the place now works as a cafe.

Mysterious buildings around the world: is there a connection?

When we talk about mysterious buildings, we often associate them with ancient civilizations, their culture and spiritual rites. This is the case of the famous Pyramids in Egypt.
However, pyramids do not exist only in this place. There are hundreds of pyramids around the world, built by different peoples at different times.

Some of the largest pyramids in the world are in Central America. Buildings such as the Pyramid of the Sun, for example, which is located in the Teotihuacán archaeological complex, near Mexico City, the Cholula Pyramid, near the city of Puebla, also in Central Mexico, and the Temple of the Great Jaguar, in Guatemala, are important cultural representations related to hierarchical or spiritual aspects (or both) of the peoples who lived there.

The Pyramid of the Sun, was built by a civilization that left few traces beyond the great buildings. It is the largest monument in Teotihuacán, which was one of the largest Mesoamerican pre-Hispanic cities. The name “Teotihuacán” is from Aztec origin and means “city of the gods”. Aztecs found the city already in ruins and made it the scene of some of its fundamental myths - the place was already a tourist and mystical destination before the Spanish arrived on the continent.
The Great Jaguar Temple is the tallest pyramid in the Tikal archaeological complex in Guatemala, which was one of the largest urban centers in the Mayan civilization. It is known to be a place of worship as it contains a tomb of King Jasaw Chan K’awil.

Submerged buildings: Atlantis? No, Japan!

Since 1995, japanese divers and scientists have been studying one of the most important archaeological discoveries on the planet, mysteriously ignored by the press.
In the Ryukyus archipelago, 480 km southwest of Okinawa, Japan, the waters around the island of Yonaguni hide a set of mysterious megalithic ruins. Geological studies have estimated the age of these monuments to be 11,000 years old.
Many scholars have refused to accept that these ruins are human-made buildings. The geometric shapes and very correct angles have been attributed to supposed "natural agents". However, other researchers assume that the bottom of the Yonaguni Sea is the tomb of a prosperous civilization possibly older than Sumer, Egypt, India or China.

Over more than a decade of exploration, divers had already located no fewer than eight large, man-made structures. A huge plateau over 200m long, a pyramid in the same style as the Aztecs, with 5 floors and aligned according to cardinal points, as well as a complete set of ziggurats, demarcating specific areas.
In 1997, Dr. Masaaki Kimura, a marine geology PhD, published A Continent Lost In The Pacific Ocean, in which he allegedly defended the existence of the submerged civilization.
On May 4, 1998, parts of the island and ruins were shaken by an earthquake. After the shock, underwater filming was made and found marks on the stones that supposedly show work similar to carvings. Tools and a small staircase were also found. The hypothesis of natural formation in Yonaguni was left behind.

The Face Enigma

Submerged 18 meters below the surface, there is a megalithic head, a stone face worn by the erosion of the waters that seemingly reminds the stone heads of other ancient places: Moais, in the Pacific; La Venta, Gulf of Mexico.

About 6,000 years ago, the ruins were immersed lands, linked to the continent. Rising sea levels over eons have submerged territories like those on the Yonaguni coast. There is speculation about the "identity" of civilization buried in those waters. Many speak of Atlantis, but if part of a "lost civilization" lies on the bed of that sea, was quoted as saying that it is Lemuria or Mu, even older, called by the esoterics of Third Race civilization.

Is there a connection?

As mentioned earlier, this construction submerged in the Japan’s sea appears to be aligned with the cardinal points. The pyramids in Egypt are also reportedly in the same configuration, since the alignment of the pyramids apparently corresponded to the alignment of three stars in the Orion constellation, suggesting that Giza is an architectural complex related to astronomy and, specifically, to that constellation.
The question of the location of the pyramids is intriguing because, by all accounts, their location was carefully chosen due to the geographic and cosmographic relations implicit in architecture.
Researchers at the Politecnico di Milano University in Italy suggest that dozens of ancient Chinese imperial mausoleums - that resemble pyramids - also line up precisely with astronomical points.

Published in the journal Archaeological Research in Asia, the study claims that China's ancient dynasties combined their knowledge of astronomy with Feng Shui traditions to build these structures.
Researcher Giulio Magli used satellite imagery to unravel the relationship between the emperors' mausoleums and members of the Chinese Western Han royal family. The tombs are scattered around the city of Xian along the Wei River in China.
Supposedly like the pyramids in Egypt, the Chinese emperors lined their funerary hills to the North, East, South and West. Attention to cardinal points is understandable to researchers, who consider historical beliefs: Chinese emperors believed that their power was a direct mandate from heaven. Along with this, they used Feng Shui traditions to organize objects. In addition, these constructions are allegedly aligned with the Gemini constellation.

Resources.

Likewise, the Angkor Ruins in Cambodia are aligned with the Dragon constellation. The great lion-faced sphinx in Egypt, the constellation Leo; the ruins of the Sacred Valley in Peru represent the Milky Way, and the great constructions of humanity, such as Easter Island, Tenochtitlán, Nazca Lines, among others, are actually much more than megalithic constructions, they are star maps. Are these buildings a great star network? Called “navels of the world”, they seem to have similar measures and represent constellations in alignment on a common date: September 23, 10500 B.C.

Apparently, it could be a message from the past to the future. Will we discover it next September 23?

UVB-76 - A mysterious wavelength

If you tune a radio to the frequency 4625 kHz you will certainly listen to a radio station called UVB-76, MDZhB, or The Buzzer Radio as some might call it. This is a radio that no-one has claimed to run and seems to have been intriguing people since 1982.
THE BUZZER - Looking for UVB-76 by Ben Zerhau — Kickstarter

Supposedly, this radio has been broadcasting continuously a monotonous tone with a “bip” sound in every two seconds. Once in a while, this radio seemingly plays a voice saying Russian words, names and numbers, apparently with no coherence.

If you want to listen the radio access the link below and put the frequence 4625.00 kHz

Or see the folowing video to know how to listen

In the last few years, with the internet, it seems that many people around the world are getting interested on this subject, and have also startedto investigate the location and its goal. Apparently this radio is located in Russia, but it is said that the real location remains unknown. An amateur research group claimed to have found the origin place of the signal in a small military city near the Povarovo village. Although in 2010 it was reported that the sound stopped and after a moment, strange noises and blows were heard Seemingly, the repetitive “bip” sound was a device placed in a room and on that day there wapeople in this room. After this fatefull day the signal location allegedly changed, and now the radio station is supposedly located near the Russia and Estonia border.

The military facility where the station supposedly located apparently was abandoned in 2010 in a hasty manner, during a dense fog. According to a resident no-one ever goes to the building where the radio antenna is located. Besides, there appeared to be an underground facility in the place. A group of explorers claimed to have found a book with several messages sent by UVB-76.
UVB-76 - A verdade sobre a misteriosa rádio russa que só transmite números
A building with radio antenna located on the abandonated facility

A supposed entrance to the underground facility
All these facts about The Buzzer seem to sharpen the curious minds, some speculate that this radio is used to send messages to Russians spies, others might say that UVB-76 was a tool to activate nuclear weapons in a potential attack to the Kremilin. There are theories about UVB-76 saying it is a ghost radio and streaming messages from another dimension, and speculations that this was used to do an experiment to measure the size of ionosphere. By all accounts, the radio keeps streaming and nobody has ever answered what exactly this station is or where it is located.

Beneath the Shadows of the Radar: the Secrets of Camp Hero

When thinking about suspicious military facilities, our first thought is normally Area 51, the worldwide famous Air Force installation in Nevada, United States. But among other lesser known bases, one of them is quite mysterious on its own, with rumors of time travelling, brainwashing and alien contact. Welcome to Camp Hero.

Located in Montauk Point, at the tip of Long Island-NY, Camp Hero Park was once an Air Force Station, now abandoned and transformed into a state park for historical preservation. With its 415 acres of beautiful forests, beaches and wetlands,it is difficult to imagine that it has a darker and peculiar past. Created in 1792 and named after Major General Andrew Hero Jr., Fort Hero became an important military base due to its location between two major American cities: New York and Boston. During World War II it was upgraded and renamed Camp Hero, receiving docks, hangars and even a torpedo testing facility. The base was also disguised as a harmless village --even a church was built to accommodate the gymnasium-- to avoid being recognized and attacked by the German Navy.

At the end of the war, Camp Hero was shut down and used as training ground for soldiers, only to be reopened along with a surveillance station to locate potential soviet air attacks. The massive SAGE radar was built in 1958, and is currently the only one still in existence. After the ground artillery portion of the base was closed in 1957, it continued serving as a surveillance station until deemed obsolete and shut down in 1981. But at the time, rumors were starting to cross Long Island about the strange things seen near Camp Hero.

The huge SAGE radar rotated every 12 seconds, and was reported to frighten animals, cause nightmares and break electronic objects. Some people believed that the microwaves emitted by the surveillance base could control minds, and used tinfoil hats to protect themselves. Even after being shut down, in 2009 local residents reported to authorities to have reportedly seen the radar plate rotate northeast after pointing to northwest since 1996. A few days later, it seemingly moved again to southwest, causing a lot of speculation about the facility being still active.

But that, as some say, is just the tip of the iceberg. In 1992, electric engineer Preston Nichols published a book called "The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time", describing some of the supposedly illegal activities done in Camp Hero during the Cold War. Nichols claimed having recovered some memories that were supposedly blocked after working in research projects at the Army base, called the Project Montauk. There was speculation involving psychological weapons such as brain controlling along with research about time travelling. Alfred Bielek, allegedly another survivor, seemingly traveled through time and reached a confidential testing site in 1983.

a supposedly close up of Junior
It was rumored that the US Army hired Nazi scientists after WWII to work secretly with the creation of mind controlled super soldiers and other kinds of experiments, like the MK-Ultra project and the Philadelphia Experiment. In Long Island, Stewart Swerdlow claimed to have been kidnapped along with other young boys and trained to be a super spy. The soldiers were called "the Montauk boys" and supposedly had their consciousness tapped by scientists. Reportedly, one of the boys was said to have accidentally caused a hole in the space-time tissue, resulting in a fourth-dimensional creature named "Junior".

Another man, going by the name of Larry James, is quoted as saying that he headed the Montauk Project's Time Control program during the late 70s. Along with him, Preston Nichols confirms that time travelling was studied, among other phenomena. The Montauk Project is also said to have possessed a piece of alien technology called "the Montauk Chair" and alien beings that were kept in rooms beneath the ground. Nichols says, “We had the little grays and larger grays as well as a variety of reptilian beings. The large grays didn’t want anything to do with me...when I entered a room, they would leave”. He also points toward the countless manholes scattered through the park, now sealed, saying that there's an enormous underground base and tunnel section beneath the facilities.

In a forum about investigations of the Montauk Project, a man claims to have entered through one of the manholes that was easier to be unsealed. Allegedly, the tunnels were flooded, sometimes with water to the neck. Here's a transcript of a piece of the description:
"We traversed a series of tunnels. I took a bunch of pictures, but unfortunately I got my camera wet and wasn’t able to get them back. The thing about the whole experience that stood out most in my mind was the crazy noises and the really strange energy/noise pulse that emanated through the tunnel. It was like a 'wuh wuh wuh' noise and you could actually feel the pulse in your body."

Besides these stories, there were some testimonials about strange creatures seen near Camp Hero. Aliens, mutants, reptilian creatures, ghosts and even Junior himself were apparently sighted, and in 2008 a discovery refueled the discussions about the mysteries of this place. An odd creature was found dead in the shore, with a body resembling a racoon and a strange beak, and was named "the Montauk Monster". Some believe it was the result of experiments made in the military base or in Plum Island, located near the place. But as most things regarding Camp Hero, it remains a mystery.

Even if it's not as famous as other urban myths, the events of Camp Hero and Project Montauk still inspire debates and questions to a lot of people, even inspiring the Netflix produced series Stranger Things. It has also been documented in the movie "Montauk Chronicles" (2015) and the TV show "The Dark Files" produced by History Channel. All in all, the park can still be visited and is a nice place if you like the mix between nature and historical, abandoned buildings. I just wouldn't recommend going at night. Who knows what --or who-- you might encounter wandering through the trees...

Winchester Mistery House: A haunted house?

Have you ever heard about the Winchester House? This is a story apparently never explained.

Sarah Winchester was born in 1840, and in 1862 she married William Winchester, the owner of the famous weapons company: Winchester. Around 1881, all important people in Sarah´s life died: her father, her husband and her baby daughter. At this point, Sarah is said to have gone crazy.

In 1884 Sarah bought a house with 8 rooms, in California. Day by day, over a lot of years, the house was supposedly built and increased in a 24/7 system. There´s speculation that Sarah usually paid an amount 300% more than usual just to have the work in a constant regime.
By all accounts, until 1922 the house had between 500 and 600 bedrooms distributed along 7 floors, with around 2.000 doors and 10.000 windows, 47 fireplaces, 6 kitchens and 17 chimneys. Several locals have claimed that Sarah worked as an architect, drawing the rooms and stairs. But the lack of experience led to several rooms of the house  with no function, very strange, or with stairs that go nowhere and doors that open directly to walls.

Can you imagine how big it can be inside?  Source: Escalon Times, 2019.

There´s speculation about the mysteries around the house. People have claimed that Sarah was in mourning for her father, husband and baby, so she apparently realized that the house was haunted by the souls of people killed by Winchester guns. So, the house was constantly expanded to accommodate all poltergeists. Sarah has claimed that this could be the only way to pay the debt.
Some rooms of the house are said to have made strange noises all the time. Sarah  supposedly built a lot of bedrooms because each night she might sleep in a different one. At the same time, she apparently made a lot of rituals ringing bells along the house. This logistic seemingly stopped a lot of scares of ghosts, who were said to be angry with the constant presence of the woman in the same place.

Well… what is the truth about the Winchester house? We will probably never know. Sarah had claimed a lot of times that the work on the house must be continuous: after all, if the hammer stopped beating, her heart would stop too. In 1906 there was an earthquake that had destroyed three of the seven floors of the house. After Sarah´s death, in 1922, the house was opened to visitation. Nowadays it still works as a museum, and you can pay to visit all the rooms and to hear a lot of scary stories. People claim to have seen a ghost in the basement: an old man with a broom and a tool box.

If you are still curious, there is a horror movie from 2018, named “The haunting of Winchester House”, with Helen Mirren in the main role, as Sarah.
